Free Marketing Tool: Smub

Reading through Janet Lee Johnson’s blog, The Art of Marketing, you may run into links that appear to be gibberish (i.e., http://smub.it/jlj/90.9.1). However, if you’re a big fan of tinyurl and snurl like me, you quickly figure out that Smub is a link-shortening tool that’s very handy when long links won’t do.
But Smub is much more.
With tinyurl and snurl, you can place a long link into tinyurl and it will generate a random abbreviated URL, which comes in handy with text messages, Twitter and blogs for which space is of the essence.
Smub allows you to create your own URL. This eases the process of remembering Web sites, like this one: http://smub.it/mah/mcbruinbw.
Janet, who admittedly has Smub as a client, provides a great tutorial on how Smub works, why it’s exciting and how people can benefit from it.
Check out how to use Smub at Janet’s site, create your own account for free (mine is now “mah”), and start Smubbing!

I am glad you found Smub useful. I really like the ease of remembering, and the ease of telling (or speaking) URLs to share them.
Now, you should download the toolbar, to shortcut your way around Smubs by just remembering the last word. For example in the case above, I could find any “mah” link by typing in your smub name – mcbruinbw.
Cheers,
