Jeff is director of business development and a senior communications counsel of McClenahan Bruer Communications (McBru).

Jeff’s marketing-communications practice expertise spans corporate communications, grassroots marketing, media/analyst relations, blog and online community relations and development, advertising project management, online marketing, branding programs, copywriting and special events. In his current role, Jeff leads McBru’s new client relationships, develops agency services, manages agency marketing and implements client strategic counsel and programs.

Jeff has led communications initiatives for an array of technology organizations including Amazon.com and its subsidiaries, IT services provider EDS, data center software company PolyServe (now HP), transportation-technology company TransCore, semiconductor companies MathStar and Tensilica, and peer-to-peer software company Streamcast (providers of Morpheus). His work with Morpheus, a software tool recently involved in a landmark U.S. Supreme Court case, is featured in the fifth edition of McGraw-Hill’s university textbook, Public Relations: The Profession and the Practice. Throughout his career, Jeff has also served clients outside of the technology industry including The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), Nautilus Daimler’s Freightliner, Tillamook Creamery and Nike.

Before joining McBru, Jeff spent seven years with the Pacific Northwest office of Fleishman-Hillard International Communications (formerly KVO Advertising and Public Relations). As a managing supervisor, Jeff served as his office’s liaison to Fleishman-Hillard’s online communications and business-to-business practice groups. Prior to Fleishman-Hillard, Jeff served in a CSX subsidiary’s employee relations department. Throughout college and shortly thereafter, Jeff held various jobs in the music industry ranging from journalism and radio station management/disc jockeying to concert promotion and record retail.

Jeff holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. In his spare time, Jeff loves to read, play drums and volunteer his marketing skills to organizations such as the Software Association of Oregon (SAO) and the Engineering and Technology Industry Council (ETIC).
